Despite their relegation being confirmed, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Derby County as they seek to get their takeover through and get out of administration.

Chris Kirchner is the man who is trying to acquire the club and he is hopeful the takeover can soon go through.

However, Derby fans are unsurprisingly not getting ahead of themselves but the prospective owner was able to provide them with an update as he said on a Facebook live stream (via Derbyshire Live): “We know by running the club responsibly we can take this forward and that is the base and the platform we are coming from so we are really excited about it.

”Obviously our timetable is very simple right now, it is the club runs out of money on Saturday.

“It’s not longer a date in the future, it is Saturday and there are a few hurdles that need to be achieved by then which namely is now the stadium. And once that is done there will be an SPA in place that has a couple of conditions in it but the main things are coming out of administration.”

However as the deadline moves closer, Kirchner has promised that as soon as the foundations are in place, planning for next season will begin as he said: “Once that is signed then we will be able to start making decisions on players and season tickets and things like that because you can’t sell season tickets while you are still in administration.”

The Verdict:

This is no doubt this is a very nervous time for the Derby fans right now given what is currently hanging over their football club as they look ahead to next year.

However, Kirchner seems to have good intentions and a strong sense of where he wants to take this Derby side and how to progress with them.

As much as next season is important, right now the key is to make sure the club is saved so there is actually something to work for next season.

However, once that is done it seems as though Kirchner will not be resting and instead be ready to start sorting out the football side of things too.
