Chesterfield are eyeing a shock move for Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn to replace Paul Cook, according to YEP journalist Phil Hay.
Cook resigned from the Spireites today and has been appointed as the new Portsmouth manager, in a move that was not a surprise to many Football League fans.
Chesterfield are now on the look out for a manager to replace Cook, and FLW understands that Crawley Town interim manager Dean Saunders is among those being considered for the job at the League One club.
Leeds United fans will undoubtedly not want this to happen, with most of the club’s fans happy with Redfearn being in charge of the Yorkshire club.
Redfearn helped revitalise the Leeds United team this season after the early season sackings of David Hockaday and Darko Milanic, and has ultimately aided them in avoiding the dreaded drop to Sky Bet League One.
Leeds United fans….. What do you make of this news? Would you be gutted to lose Redfearn to Chesterfield in the summer? Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below!
