Chelsea have entered the race to sign Adama Traore, according to reports in Spain.

Spanish media outlet Sport is reporting that Chelsea are ready to launch a shock raid on Middlesbrough to land the young winger.

Adama Traore could be set to leave Middlesbrough this summer after they were relegated to the Championship.

The Spanish youth international only joined Boro last summer after leaving Aston Villa.

With two years of Premier League experience under his belt and age still on his side, Chelsea are looking to secure a deal for the speedy winger this summer.

The 21-year-old showed glimpses of his talent last season with his displays out wide for Middlesbrough but only managed one assist and did not score a single goal.

In the 2015/16 season with Aston Villa, Traore also picked up one assist and no goals.

Chelsea are still interested in the former Barcelona youngster's potential as they look to build for the future.

Middlesbrough seem willing to sell Traore for the right price but Chelsea face competition from West Ham United for their services.

The Hammers are looking for some pace in the wide areas and Traore fits the bill.

Fans will be split on whether to sell or keep the starlet but if the right offer comes in, Garry Monk will let Traore leave and pursue his career in the Premier League.
