Chelsea playmaker closing in on switch to Championship side, deal being worked on

Sky Bet Championship side Swansea City are working on a deal to sign Chelsea youngster Kyle Scott on loan, according to Football Insider.

The 21-year-old has impressed in the first half of the campaign on loan at Holland second division side SC Telstar, scoring two goals in fourteen games during his loan spell away from Stamford Bridge.

The American playmaker has made just one appearance for Chelsea, which came off the bench against Hull City in the fifth round of the FA Cup last season, and has reportedly been in talks with Serie B side Ascoli ahead of a potential move earlier this month.

But reports claim that the attacker, who wants to return to Chelsea and play his football in the United Kingdom, is attracting interest from Graham Potter’s Swansea City, who are admirers of the youngster.

The Swans are in need of a boost in attack if they are to ignite what now seems an unlikely play-off finish – the Welsh club currently sit 13th in the Sky Bet Championship table, six points off the play-off places.

The Verdict

Scott looks to be a really exciting player, who hasn’t been given a chance at Chelsea just yet.

We’ve seen the likes of Mason Mount leave Chelsea on loan to go to Holland, and although Scott may not be good, they do have a plethora of talented youngsters in their ranks.

This could be a fantastic signing for Swansea, who still have aspirations of promotion this term.
