Chelsea move closer to signing 19-year-old Championship starlet

Chelsea are set to move for 19-year-old Charlton midfielder Diego Poyet, according to the Daily Star.
Diego Poyet, the son of Sunderland manager Gus Poyet has informed the Championship club that he wants to leave and move on to another club.
The highly-rated 19-year-old was a standout performer in what turned out to be a mediocre season for the Addicks.
Chelsea are among a number of clubs monitoring Poyet’s situation at the London club, and with this news that he wants to move, a deal will become easier.
“We are extremely disappointed that Diego has turned down our offer for him to stay with us,” Charlton director Katrien Meire told the club website.
“We did all we could to persuade him to remain with the club.
“Along with our fans, I enjoyed watching his progression last season and hoped we would continue to enjoy his development at The Valley.”
