Chelsea midfielder George Saville is set to join Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan, according to the Sunday People. 

 

Saville, who spent last season on loan at Brentford, is set to join former Bees boss Uwe Rosler at the DW Stadium.

The 21-year-old made 40 appearances last season whilst on loan at Griffin Park, scoring three goals.

Saville came through the youth ranks at Chelsea and was part of the reserve squad that won the 2010/11 Premier Reserve League.

The midfielder has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blues since signing a three-and-a-half year contract in January 2012.

Saville also made three appearances during a short loan spell at Millwall in February 2013.
