Chelsea are ready to let Kasey Palmer leave the club on loan again but Derby County have not yet made a decision on whether to pursue this deal, according to The Mirror.

Palmer spent the latter half of last season on loan at Derby but only started two games.

The attacking midfielder netted twice in 16 appearances in total for the Rams and Derby are thought to have first refusal on Palmer's loan services after having him last year and with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard now at the helm.

But Lampard is still considering his options and is not sure whether he will move for Palmer or not.

This could open the door for Norwich City to pounce.

The Canaries are interested in the 21-year-old, who Sporting Director Stuart Webber signed for Huddersfield Town.

During his loan spell at Huddersfield, the England under-21 international helped the Terriers to win promotion to the top flight but his second stint at the club was marred by injuries, forcing him to head to Derby in January on loan.

Norwich could look to take advantage of Derby's hesitance and snap the youngster up on loan.

The Verdict

Palmer would be an excellent signing for Norwich, who have lost James Maddison and Josh Murphy and therefore need reinforcements in attacking midfield.

The Chelsea starlet has reached the play-offs twice in two seasons in the Championship so he knows how to succeed at this level.

Able to play on either wing or through the middle, he would also be a decent option for Derby, but Lampard probably has his eyes on other targets too.
