Both Norwich City and Sheffield United can now begin preparations for the Premier League after their top-flight promotion was secured on the weekend.

Norwich sealed their fate with a 2-1 victory over Blackburn, while Leeds United's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa meant the Blades could also celebrate their top-two finish.

It appears both clubs have already started lining up their summer transfer additions, with a whole host of players linked to the sides in recent weeks.

And it now appears that Daniel Farke and Chris Wilder will compete for the signature of one man who has impressed in the second tier this season, according to The Sun via HITC.

Kasey Palmer impressed at Blackburn Rovers after joining on loan from Chelsea in the summer, making 14 appearances before switching to promotion-chasing Bristol City.

However, he has been unable to cement a place in Lee Johnson's starting line-up in recent weeks, suggesting he could again be on the move in the summer.

The 22-year-old is a highly-rated midfielder, so he is now thought to be keen on a permanent switch away from Chelsea this summer in order to progress his first-team chances.

Palmer previously featured in the Premier League for Huddersfield Town last season, but he found opportunities hard to come by under David Wagner and made just four appearances.

The Verdict

This would be a worthwhile transfer for both clubs, but only if they can sign Palmer on a permanent deal.

He has struggled to nail down a starting place in many of his loan spells, which means he now needs some stability to progress his career.

Norwich and Sheffield United can provide good environments for him to develop, and he would provide some much-needed creativity, while also offering strength-in-depth as both sides attempt to negotiate the Premier League.
