Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah is set for a loan move this summer and has attracted interest from Fulham and West Brom, according to Football Insider.

The latest report suggests the 20-year-old will sign a new deal before deciding his immediate future, but another Championship loan beckons after he impressed last season for Ipswich.

He made 44 appearances in all competitions last year and showed he can handle all aspects of the game. He is a battling midfielder who likes to get the ball down and play and therefore emulates Scott Parker, who could be the man to sign him.

However, West Brom are perhaps in greater need of a defensive midfielder, and Chalobah will likely feature more if he made the move to the Baggies. Slaven Bilic has shown faith in young players throughout his career so it would be a good fit for Chalobah.

He may prefer a move to Fulham though, it is local to where he lives and he would not have to settle elsewhere. Also, Fulham don't have many players like Chalobah, and after their abysmal defensive record last season they require a player who can break up play and protect the defence.

The Verdict

This is an important season for Chalobah, and he needs to make sure he joins a team where he will play regularly as he will not develop if he is sat on the bench.

He showed last season that he would be an effective option for most Championship sides, and deserves a role as a defensive midfielder in a top side.

Chalobah has two years remaining on his Chelsea contract, and if he proves too good for the Championship this season then he could begin to play himself into contention for the Chelsea first-team, or attract interest from elsewhere in the Premier League.
