It’s been a fine start to the season for Leeds United, who under Marcelo Bielsa are looking for promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Leeds are picking up two points per game, with the Whites knowing that victory over Brentford on Saturday would leave them in an extremely strong position to kick on after October’s international break.

Bielsa’s work with Leeds’ squad has to be applauded, particularly when you consider the Argentinian has had to deal with so many injuries.

Patrick Bamford, Izzy Brown, Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe and Gaetano Berardi have all been sidelined in recent weeks, whilst Adam Forshaw also missed the opening month of the season following a pre-season injury.

There’s no doubt that Leeds will get stronger when their injured players return, which could be a frightening prospect for their Championship rivals.

Here at FLW, we select what we believe is the strongest Leeds XI when everyone is fully fit…

Faith was placed in Peacock-Farrell ahead of Chelsea loanee, Jamal Blackman.

We’ve not seen enough of Blackman to consider his inclusion.

Ayling has proved to be a steady option on the right for Leeds.

Berardi started the season superbly, but Jansson is looking back to his best.

If promotion is to be achieved, Leeds need a big effort from the Swede.

Cooper is Leeds’ captain and has enjoyed a good start to the season.

Douglas looks a superb addition on the left of defence.

Phillips has improved so much under Bielsa, with the 22-year-old amongst the first names on the teamsheet.

Harrison does lack a lot of consistency, but he’s a threat down the right side of midfield.

Klich has resurrected his Leeds career magnificently, with the Polish international looking one of the Championship’s most complete midfielders.

Saiz carries a huge threat in an attacking midfield position.

The Spaniard edges out Izzy Brown, as we’ve not seen the Chelsea loanee in action.

Hernandez has featured on the right so far this season, but with Harrison occupying that role in his absence, we’ve selected the Spaniard on the left.

Despite Ezgjan Alioski’s three goals, Hernandez is more valuable to Leeds.

Leeds have missed Roofe over the last month despite Tyler Roberts’ impressive performances.

Had Roofe been available to Bielsa, you’d imagine that Leeds would have more points on the board.
