Hull City are weighing up the possibility of signing Chelsea full-back, Todd Kane in the summer according to Hull Live.

The full-back spent last season on loan with the Tigers, and he's seemingly made a good impression on Nigel Adkins, as he looks to prepare ahead of next year's campaign.

The 25-year-old made 41 appearances last season for the Championship side as they finished 13th in the league table.

The report also claims that Chelsea have told Kane that they won't be renewing his deal with the club, which might not come as a surprise as he hasn't made a single senior appearances for the Blues.

This will certainly come as a disappointment to Kane though, who has been at Stamford Bridge since under 8's level.

Kane has had numerous loan spells earlier in his career, having previously represented the likes of Preston North End, Blackburn Rovers and Oxford United.

Having his long-term future resolved at the earliest of opportunities will be his number one priority in the summer, although it remains to be seen as to whether Hull will make a formal approach for Kane.

The Verdict:

This could be a smart bit of business by the Tigers.

Kane is a player they know well and he could be a useful option to have at full-back ahead of next year's campaign.

He'll be keen to show Chelsea what they'd be missing out on, and is more than good enough to be playing in the Championship on a regular basis.
