Before the summer started, there was one name that Sheffield Wednesday fans desperately wanted to see sign a permanent deal with the club - Michael Hector.

The defender was voted the club's player of the season last year during his loan spell from Chelsea and there were high-hopes that a permanent deal would be agreed.

However, it now looks like he is heading to Fulham.

According to Simon Peach of PA, the 27-year-old will head to Craven Cottage in January after a permanent deal fell through due to worries over PnS boundaries.

There were rumours circling on Thursday morning that Wednesday were ready to complete a deal for him, but it was agreed among the Owls' hierachy that the reported £5million price asked for by the Blues was far too high for a player entering the final year of his deal, according to Dale Johnson of ESPN.

And althoug they were disappointed, it is a decision that many of the fans completely understood...
