Bradford City have made a very bold call in unveiling Michael Collins as their new Head Coach.

The club's official website confirmed that Collins would replace Simon Grayson as manager, joined by Greg Abbott and Martin Drury as his Assistant Coaches.

The 32-year-old is in charge of the first-team following a stint as the club's under-18 manager while he was still playing non-league football for his hometown club Halifax Town.

Collins has represented a number of clubs in the lower leagues during his career, including Leyton Orient, Oxford United, Scunthorpe United and Huddersfield Town, as well as having a stint in India with Bengaluru.

The former Republic of Ireland under-21 international signs a three-year deal with the Bantams, alongside Abbott and Drury, and will take charge with immediate effect.

Fans took to Twitter to share their views on this announcement with opinion divided on this one.

Some praised the "German way" of promoting from within and giving an opportunity to a young coach, while others are underwhelmed by this after a seven week wait for a new boss, citing his lack of experience.
