Sheffield Wednesday were forced to settle for a point on Wednesday evening as they drew 1-1 with Derby County.

The Owls took the lead on the day through Steven Fletcher, who netted his 11th goal of the season so far to give Garry Monk's side the ideal start.

But they would have been left frustrated as Chris Martin fired home a late penalty with just eight minutes remaining to rescue the Rams a point.

The result means that Sheffield Wednesday are now sat eighth in the Championship table, and they'll be hoping to put together a good run of results heading into the potentially season-defining festive period, which could make or break their league campaign this term.

Monk revealed in a post-match press conference that he thought his side should have come away with three points to show for their efforts, although he was pleased to take a point on the night.
