One player who will certainly be feeling a lot more positive about his chances of making an impact at Charlton Athletic is 26-year-old striker Chuks Aneke, with the striker having so far struggled at the Valley.

Recent reports have emerged of a plethora of clubs being interested in securing the services of the club's key striking duo Macauley Bonne and Lyle Taylor, thus potentially freeing up room for Aneke to potentially become a regular starter in Lee Bowyer's side.

The summer signing from League One outfit MK Dons has found his game time limited to just 11 substitute appearances for the Addicks, a factor that is sure to have left the striker feeling disheartened by his situation.

To add to his woes, the former Arsenal man has only found the net on one occasion in the league, perhaps underlining why he is currently out of favour under Bowyer.

He will surely be feeling more positive about his situation now, with rumours continuing to swirl over the futures of his high-performing teammates, as a departure for either Bonne or Taylor would significantly improve his chances of establishing himself in the Championship.

The striker was previously said to be nearing a return to full fitness, but has yet to reappear in the first team squad, meaning he may have to wait a few more matches before he can return to action.

Given that he is now at the age of 26, Aneke will no doubt be concerned by the fact that he has found his game time limited at the Championship club, as a lack of minutes during what are perceived to be his 'prime' years bound to leave a bad taste in the mouth for a player who has yet to really fulfill his potential.

It will certainly be interesting to see how Aneke's situation develops, particularly if either Bonne or Taylor departs the Valley in January.
