Charlton Athletic have had a turbulent season on their return to the Championship, with poor form and off-field distractions both playing their part.

Prior to the league being suspended the Addicks were sitting 22nd in the Championship table, two points adrift of safety.

Lee Bowyer's side started the year well but a run of one league win between the end of October and and early February saw them plummet down the table.

The Addicks are not one of the big spending Championship clubs and have been through financial difficulties under the ownership of  Roland Duchatelet.

This summer the club mainly targeted players from the lower leagues and free agents, while none of their highest-paid players feature in the top 100 earners in the league.

The club have also been heavily reliant on the form of loan players this season, with four loanees arriving in January alone.

Here, we look at the five highest earners currently at the club based on Capology data.

On loan from West Ham United for the past two season, Cullen has been a crucial part of the Addicks midfield.

Joined on a permanent basis in the summer after a successful loan spell in the 2017/18 season. Is yet to play a league game this season though.

Has failed to make an impact following his summer arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion, with no goals in 13 Championship appearances.

Joined on loan from West Bromwich Albion in August but has made just nine league appearances so far due to injury.

With five assists in 19 appearances Williams has impressed on occasion this term, but has been left on the bench or substituted early by Bowyer in recent weeks.
