Charlton Athletic youngster Regan Charles-Cook is wanted by National League Woking for the final few months of the season, according to Get Surrey journalist Mark Ritson.

Charles-Cook scored five goals in 17 outings for the Cards earlier in the season, but returned to Charlton after picking up an injury. Prior to that he had made three first team appearances for the Addicks, scoring a late winner as they eliminated Exeter from the Carabao Cup.

He's no stranger to the National League having also been out on loan with Solihull Moors last season, scoring four goals as they avoided relegation into the National League North.

Woking boss Anthony Limbrick confirmed he's been watching the Charlton ace in his U23 matches recently: "Regan was a great player for us and it was a shame he got injured and he had to go back to Charlton," Limbrick was quoted Get Surrey. "He scored for Charlton's U23s the other day and he got an assist for them on Monday night, so we're keeping tabs on him but we'll see how we go. We know he's a good player and one we'd love to get soon if we could."

Charles-Cook is one of three footballing brothers, Reice is currently playing for Swindon Town in League Two, whilst older brother Anthony is already on loan at Woking from Ebbsfleet.

The Verdict

Charles-Cook looks to have a bright future ahead of him and his involvement in the Addicks first team at the season's outset proved that. However, his game time is limited and it would make sense for him to go out for a couple of months to get some sharpness back, before pushing for a first team place at The Valley next season.
