Charlton Athletic are set to make an enquiry for Manchester United right-back Sadiq El Fitouri, according to Jeff Stein.

The 21-year old made one appearance for Salford City, before being recommended to the Manchester United Under-21 coach by former players Phil Neville and Paul Scholes. He featured prominently in a documentary based on the club.

El Fitouri is of Libyan descent and currently holds dual nationality between the African country and England. He started his career in the Manchester City youth setup, before being released by the club. He is also a full international, making three appearances for Libya.

Whilst he has not yet featured for the United senior side, he has made three Under-21 Premier League appearances and is tipped by many to be a Premier League player eventually.

Charlton are currently 23rd place in the Championship, with 24 points so far this season. They have the worst defensive record in the league, and are without a clean sheet since 12th December. Additions to their defensive capabilities are necessary, and El Fitouri should be a good signing for Jose Riga's men.

This will also be highly beneficial to the player to find out what it is like to compete in one of the most physical and competitive leagues in the world.

Charlton fans, what do you think? Would El Fitouri be a good signing? Can he help you avoid the drop? Let us know in the comments below!
