The future of Charlton Athletic is once again up in the air as we move closer to the Sky Bet Championship season resuming in June.

Votes still need to be held but clubs are in training and with so many having so much to still play for, it is surely likely that the majority will opt to get things going once more.

Indeed, Charlton have plenty to play for with the way their season went before the break but, off of the field, they face just a great - if not greater - challenge.

Once again ownership woes have struck the club and, whilst we wait to see if Huw Jenkins is going to come in and perhaps inject a bit of stability, Charlton's fans look primed to act if they are needed to.

The Charlton Athletic Supporters' Trust took to Twitter this week, and has sent out this statement:

The Verdict

Right now, the plan is for fans and the Supporters' Trust just to be ready to act and CAST has gone about earning sign-ups from people that would be prepared to help their cause - though they're not raising any funds just yet.

They're still working on the finer details of things but, if another ownership farce plays out, it appears they're making contingency plans to take control of the club they love.
