Two Championship sides and a League One side are in the hunt to sign Jason Pearce from Charlton Athletic this summer, according to a report by Sky Sports via This Is Local London.
Wigan Athletic, who were relegated to League One after a disappointing season, want to snap up the centre back just one year after selling him to Charlton.
However, the Latics will only be able to offer him the same level of football that he would get at Charlton.
Pearce might instead be tempted to join one of two Championship sides chasing his signature.
Newly promoted Bolton Wanderers, who achieved automatic promotion at the first time of asking, could bring in the 29-year-old for their Championship campaign.
They will be rivalled by Birmingham City, with Harry Redknapp keen to bring in a load of new players after narrowly keeping the Blues afloat in the Championship.
The former Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Leeds defender might be sold by Karl Robinson to raise funds for other players.
