Charlton Athletic look set to miss out on Tours striker Andy Delort as Wolverhampton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic are now frontrunners in the race for the Frenchman, reports the Sevenoaks Chronicle

The Addicks boss Bob Peeters was hopeful that a deal could be reached with the striker, who scored 24 goals in 36 games in Ligue 2 last season, but it appears now that the deal is off with Wigan or Wolves the preferred destination.

Peeters said of the situation:

“Apparently Wigan are interested and apparently Wolves are interested.

“First he was going to sign for us then he was going to Wigan and now apparently he’s close to Wolves, so I don’t know any more which team is going to bring him in.”

His current clubs FC Tours said in a statement:

“Discussions are also underway with several clubs.

“A better offer (than Wigan’s) has been made by another British club, which included a very intriguing link-up with the Tours FC training centre.
