Charlton set to appoint former Belgian international as manager

Published

on

Charlton Athletic will name former Belgian international Bob Peeters as their new manager within the next 48 hours, london24 understands.

40-year-old Peeters resigned from his post at Belgian side Waasland-Beveren last Thursday and is set to replace Jose Riga as manager at The Valley.

The former Milwall striker is reportedly keen on a return to London after leaving England nine years ago.

Peeters played for Charlton’s rivals Milwall between 2003 and 2005

Should he be appointed, he will become Charlton’s third manager of 2014 after compatriot Jose Riga succeeded Chris Powell in March.

Peeters will be tasked with rebuilding the squad after the club released 11 players, and he will be expected to guide the team to a mid-table finish next season.
