Charlton Athletic defender Lewis Page has provided an insight to his injury recovery after suffering latest setback during his Under 23s appearance against Crystal Palace last month.

Page has not made a first-team appearance for the Addicks since October 2018 after being plagued by injuries in recent times, and he was dealt his latest blow when he was forced off after just 12 minutes during the Under 23s clash towards the end of January.

The 23-year-old has endured serious injury problems since arriving at The Valley from West Ham in January 2017, with his fitness issues meaning he has never been able to complete a full season for the Addicks without nursing an injury at some stage.

The left-back's Charlton contract is now set to expire in the summer which means Page is now set for an important six months at the club with the defender now not only battling for full fitness, but also for his future at the South London side.

Page has now taken to Instagram to reveal he is watching Andy Murray's documentary 'Resurfacing' in order to help his recovery, with the tennis player having released the programme last year to track his injury journey between 2017 and 2019.

The Verdict

Page's latest injury setback for the Under 23s would have been hugely damaging given the cruel journey he has been on over the last couple of years, and the left-back will now be aware that his future at the club could be in serious doubt.

This update suggests the former West Ham man is determined to do everything he can in order to make a full recovery, with this image indicating he is looking to take inspiration from another sportsperson who has undergone similar injury problems to Page.

It remains to be seen whether Page will be able to wear the Charlton shirt again following his string of setbacks, but there can be no doubt that he is determined to get back playing for the South London outfit.
