Lee Bowyer has stated who he thinks are the best teams that Charlton Athletic have come up against in the Championship this season.

The Addicks have had a successful few weeks, and have beaten sides such as Nottingham Forest and Luton Town to put themselves in the driving seat in the Championship relegation battle.

Bowyer expressed that he thought Brentford and Leeds United were the sides that stood out to him, and that comes as no surprise with both fighting for promotion.

However, Charlton have actually beaten both teams at The Valley earlier this season and Bowyer will be encouraged that his team is getting back on track with a crucial final 12 games remaining.

The manager has insisted that his side have been a match for every team in the division, although confirmed that Leeds and Brentford were the biggest problem causers.

Speaking to News Shopper, Bowyer said: "I don’t think there’s much in it with any teams we’ve played.

"Apart from Leeds United and Brentford, they stand out.

"Their passing and movement, they cause the most problems, but everyone else, there’s not much in it at all."

The Verdict

It's no surprise to see him say two sides that are so effective with the ball at their feet, especially in areas around the opposition half.

Both sides play football that is good on the eye, and it looks as though they'll both have a big chance of playing Premier League football as they head into the last 12 fixtures.

It's quite interesting that Bowyer's side has beaten both of the sides he mentioned which shows that on their day Charlton can match any team in this division.

They'll be hoping to continue that and ensure that they survive in the division after what has been an encouraging few weeks.
