Charlton Athletic have launched a bid of six-figures for Boreham Wood winger Sorba Thomas as they look to finish the transfer window with a flourish.

The Addicks have had a rollercoaster few months but it looks as though they are aiming to finish the market on a high as Lee Bowyer eyes some late additions to add to his squad before the deadline at 5pm on Friday evening.

They've made a move for Thomas, then, with Ben Ransom sharing the details on Twitter:

The winger scored five goals last season in the National League for Boreham Wood and is evidently seen as one of the brightest players in non-league football at the moment.

Lee Bowyer clearly feels he can help him on his next step of progression, then, with him experiencing time at league clubs already having been in West Ham's youth set-up.

The Verdict

A six-figure bid obviously has a bit of range to it but, nevertheless, this could be decent money for a non-league player.

Clearly, Charlton feel with Thomas that there is a really decent player to be discovered and Bowyer and the club are well versed in developing young footballers.

It's a big opportunity for him and it looks as though it should happen.
