Charlton Athletic are lining-up a loan-move for Sheffield United's Kean Bryan.

Blades boss Chris Wilder is planning to loan-out Bryan, 23, who is wanted by both Charlton and Huddersfield Town.

Journalist Alan Nixon tweeted today to say that the club will now allow Bryan to depart on-loan for the remainder of the season, after their deal to sign Nottingham Forest's Jack Robinson has been completed.

Lee Bowyer is said to have been keeping tabs on Bryan throughout the season, but United were previously unwilling to let him leave.

Charlton are yet to make a signing this window. They saw the completion of their takeover by East Street Investments at the start of the month, and overnight they became one of the richest clubs in the EFL.

But their sole signing of this transfer window remains the loan acquisition of Andre Green from Aston Villa - they've been linked with Rangers' Greg Docherty on-loan, but nothing has yet materialised.

Bryan is yet to feature for Sheffield United in the Premier League this season. He's had successful loan-spells in the past with the likes of Bury and Oldham - he's featured in both the FA and Carabao Cup this season for Wilder's side this term, but hasn't played a league match since 2018.

The verdict

By now, Charlton fans will be begging for their side to sign anyone. For whatever reason, Charlton haven't made any moves in this window but there's still time to bring in a few names.

Charlton need it as well. They've been thwart with injuries throughout the season so far and that shows no signs of dwindling - they need numbers, and Bryan would provide some solid back-up.
