Reading suffered an unfortunate defeat on Saturday as second-placed Leeds United beat them by a solitary Pablo Hernandez goal at Elland Road.

It was a close game for the majority of the 90 minutes, and the Royals had a number of good openings that they couldn't quite turn into goals.

The defeat means that Reading lie 16th in the league, ahead of two games against sides in the relegation zone as they take on both Wigan Athletic and Barnsley over the next week.

Reading have had some good results this season against teams fighting for a place in the Premier League. The Royals have beaten Fulham and Preston North End away from home, whilst also earning a point at The Hawthorns.

It's been a rather inconsistent campaign for Mark Bowen and his side, and if the quality players performed on a regular basis then they could find themselves higher in the division.

Football League World asked Facebook group, Reading FC 1871, who they think is the best team the Royals have played this season and why.

Here are some of the replies...

Alex Champion: Certainly not Derby lol. I’d say either West Brom or Charlton because we were outclassed/outplayed in both games.

Kevin West: WBA they were better.

Graham Poole: WBA played class passing football and won every second ball.

Mark Thorndike: Charlton.

Mal Hinton: Fulham because they thrashed us at our ground and at 4-1 down with 25 minutes remaining most of our fans went home.

Robert Palfreyman: Sheff Wed at home..they were abysmal away though!

Jonathan Fairweather: Anyone but Leeds.
