Marian Mihail has been answering questions from the Charlton Athletic Supporters' Trust - via the club's website, and has issued an update concerning ongoing transfer plans at the club.

The Addicks have had an up and down season and once the campaign is resumed - providing it is - they will be aiming to get out of the relegation zone as soon as possible.

The hope will be, then, that next year they will be in the Championship and the next transfer window will give them the chance to add to their squad with some good players.

Answering a question about that, then, Mihail revealed that Steve Gallen, Lee Bowyer and Johnnie Jackson are continuing to strive to find the right targets for the club.

He said:

"Steve Gallen continues to liaise with his scouts, Lee Bowyer and Johnnie Jackson regarding potential targets.

"The football landscape, players wages and contracts will change because of the situation around the world.

"As always, we want to be in a good position to get the best players at the best value for our football club and that is something Steve and his team are focussed on."

The Verdict

It's been a pretty hectic period at Charlton, even without the pandemic to have to deal with.

Boardroom battles have dominated the headlines at the club once again and fans will hope that they are edging away from that now.

Fans are going to be eager to see new players arrive given the promise of fresh riches, and the hope will be that new arrivals will have the chance to play Championship football for the club next season, rather than League One.
