Many of the Charlton faithful will be nervously looking over their collective shoulders after seeing their side go nine games without picking up a victory in the league, thus leaving the Addicks just six points above the relegation zone.

The club's supporters will have been frustrated with the way their side has lost games in more recent times, with the Addicks losing games late on against Luton and Huddersfield Town respectively, whilst they succumbed to defeat against Middlesbrough due to an early strike from George Saville.

Fans will no doubt point to the club's on-going injury crisis as the main source of their current bad form, with the south Londoners missing a host of key players such as Jonny Williams and Josh Cullen.

However the onus will be placed on those players that are fit to give the Valley faithful something to shout about, with the side's last win coming against Derby County back in October.

The club's supporters can however seek solace in the fact that the club has now been taken over by East Street Investments, thus giving them hopes of January incomings in the upcoming window, whilst on the field, Lyle Taylor's return to the first team fold will be a welcome boost.

With games to come against fellow inconsistent performers, Hull City and QPR, the Addicks will be confident of picking up some much needed points and therefore embark on an ascent up the Championship table once again.

The signing of experienced midfielder Joe Ledley will have also been a welcome surprise for Charlton fans, with their team greatly lacking a real presence in the centre of the park since Cullen picked up his injury.

Fans will certainly be hoping for better things in the coming weeks as the season nears it's midway stage, otherwise they could well be embroiled in a relegation battle.
