Despite spending a lengthy period on the sidelines through injury, Charlton Athletic talisman Lyle Taylor still continues to attract interest from others sides, with the 29-year-old's contract running down at the end of the current campaign.

The latest sides which are said to have entered the race to secure the services of the Montserrat international are fellow Championship side West Brom and Scottish Premiership giants Glasgow Rangers, with Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie reporting that the duo are both keeping tabs on the striker's situation.

This will no doubt increase the anxiety levels amongst the Charlton faithful, with Taylor's future very much up in the air as we reach the halfway stage of the campaign, many fans will be worried about losing one of their standout performers.

On the other hand, fans will be aware that the player's contract is nearing its final six months, therefore meaning that some Charlton supporters will be more open to the sale of 29-year-old than they were before, with many likely to want some kind of financial gain this January rather than seeing him depart for nothing in the summer.

Given the fact that fellow London based outfit Brentford put in several bids for the striker during the summer, there will surely be some murmurs from Taylor's camp which suggest that the player would like to pursue a move away from the Valley, with the player only likely to have one big move left before he hangs up his boots.

Cashing in on Taylor during the January window seems like the best outcome for all concerned with there being no sign of the player and the club agreeing on a new contract at present, meaning that there is an increasing feeling of inevitability surrounding the 29-year-old's potential departure.

Meanwhile, Taylor will be seeking to add to his goal tally of five after making his return to first team action against Middlesbrough earlier this month.
