Lee Bowyer and Charlton Athletic's collective injury issues have been well documented this term, with the Addicks having seen the likes of Lyle Taylor and Jonny Williams sidelined for lengthy periods in recent months, thus leaving the squad depleted.

And things are about to get worse for the Addicks as it was confirmed today by London News Online that West Ham United loanee Josh Cullen has been ruled out for up to two months with an injury, thus dealing another blow to the club's hopes of securing their Championship status for another season.

Cullen has been one of the south London club's star performers this term, registering one goal and one assist, whilst also boasting a pass success rate of 84.2%, thus underlining his qualities as a deep-lying playmaker for the Addicks in midfield.

The Valley faithful will no doubt be alarmed with this latest update, as it couldn't have come at a worse time for the club, particularly as they were only able to feature six players on the bench in their recent defeat to Luton Town.

The loss of Cullen means that supporters will no doubt be concerned with how the team are going to cope without the influential 23-year-old, with a significant gap having now been left in the midfield engine room.

Fans will be hoping that the likes of Beram Kayal and Albie Morgan can now step up in Cullen's absence and provide their frontmen with the service they need up top.

Supporters will be encouraged by the fact that Bowyer has taken the decision to recall Albie Morgan from his loan spell at Ebbsfleet United, as this will add much-needed depth to their midfield.

It remains to be seen how Bowyer will go about coping with the loss of Cullen's services, with the manager's options significantly depleted in that area of the team.

Meanwhile, the Addicks will be looking to get back to winning ways this weekend as they play host to an equally out of form Sheffield Wednesday side.
