Charlton have had a brilliant start to the season under Lee Bowyer, and have surprised the rest of the Championship with their positivity since promotion from League One.

They have many key players in their side, but the main attribute that they have is that they're a team. You can see when they're out on the pitch, they all fight for one another and produce displays that make the supporters proud.

The Addicks have beaten sides such as Leeds United and Brentford throughout the season and are showing that they aren't out of place in the division.

One player who has been a very good player over the past for Charlton is Josh Cullen. He joined before the start of their League One promotion season to the Championship on loan from Premier League side West Ham.

He was pivotal in guiding the Addicks to England's second tier, and this meant that Bowyer and the club decided to take him back on loan for the current season in order to continue his development.

At just 23-years-old, he still has a long career ahead of him, and he's developing perfectly to hopefully become a regular for West Ham in the near future.

Recently, there have been a couple of Hammers news pages that have reported that the club could be looking to recall the centre-midfielder in January.

The Addicks supporters will be very distressed to hear this news, and will be hoping that they can hold onto him until the end of the season. With all the injuries that have happened at the club over the previous months, it's vital that Bowyer can keep hold of the loan players at the club otherwise there could be a concern that the season could fizz out.

Cullen is a popular figure in the dressing room, and out on the pitch. It would be a gutting feeling for Charlton fans to see him return early.

It could be big in terms of action on the pitch as well, if the Addicks still have an opportunity of getting into the play-offs then this could be one of the biggest deciders of the season in terms of where Bowyer and his side may finish.

Obviously, Charlton have a good squad and there are other players who can come in, but if Cullen is going back to West Ham to sit on the bench then it's a loss for both the player and the Championship club.
