Charlton Athletic striker Tomer Hemed has taken to Instagram to share an update on his injury recovery.

Hemed has been hampered by injuries since joining Charlton on a season-long loan over the summer, with the 32-year-old having only featured in five of the Addicks' first 14 matches in the Championship this campaign.

His last appearance for Lee Bowyer's side came during the 3-0 victory over Derby earlier this month when he made a 15-minute cameo from the bench, but he has not been included in the match-day squad for the last two matches.

The Brighton loanee is one of a number of players on the injury list at The Valley alongside the likes of Lyle Taylor, Jonny Williams and Sam Field, who have all also missed recent matches with their respective injuries.

However, it now appears Hemed might not be too far away from a return as his latest Instagram update declares that he'll be "back soon" from his most recent injury set-back.

Hemed is yet to find the net for his new club since his arrival in August, but Charlton have made a positive start to life in the Championship on the whole, as they currently sit ninth in the league standings.

The Verdict

Injury problems have restricted Hemed from truly making a mark at his new club, and Charlton will be eager to get him back to fitness as soon as possible given their long list of absentees currently.

The Addicks have been really unfortunate in the number of players they have lost to injury since the start of the season, but Bowyer has performed an excellent job to keep his side competitive in the Championship every week.

Hemed could certainly make a significant contribution in the Championship if he is able to find his fitness, and he could prove to be an interesting back-up option for the likes of Taylor and Macauley Bonne when they are all available.
