Charlton Athletic weighing up deal for former Championship striker

Charlton are chasing former Birmingham striker Lee Novak who was released from the club this month, after barely playing all season, according to South London Press.
Charlton manager Russell Slade was made manager last week and has been given the challenge of taking Charlton right back up to the Championship at the first attempt, and he is seemingly close to his first piece of transfer business.
Novak has experience at this level after Birmingham loaned him out to Chesterfield and he bagged 14 goals in 35 games, and it seems he wasn’t wanted by Gary Rowett at Birmingham anymore, after being released.
Novak is known for his play as a target man taking down long balls and making cutting runs past defenders.
He has plenty of experience at this level, having played for Birmingham, Huddersfield and Chesterfield – and on a free transfer could be worth the risk for Charlton.
