Charlton Athletic welcome Bolton Wanderers to The Valley in Sky Bet League One this evening in what is a crucial game for Addicks boss Nigel Adkins in particular.

The two sides have had pretty different starts to their campaigns in the third tier, with the Trotters taking to life back in League One pretty nicely and Charlton really struggling for form, upping the pressure on Adkins in these opening stages.

Indeed, it's an important clash for him to try and get three points from after draws against Gillingham and Portsmouth but Bolton are also eager to get back to winning ways and will provide a stern test.

Ian Evatt has seen his Trotters side lose their last two games, the last a narrow defeat at Sunderland, and he'll be looking for his entertainers to respond this evening with an attacking display.

In terms of team news, Charlton remain without Ryan Inniss, Jake Forster-Caskey and Ronnie Schwartz, whilst Conor Washington faces a late fitness test and he'll be assessed before kick-off.

For Bolton, Lloyd Isgrove will be missing but Elias Kachunga could come in from the start whilst Andrew Tutte has added to Evatt's list of injuries already consisting of Liam Edwards, Xavier Amaechi and Finlay Lockett.

Amadou Bakayoko is nearing a return, however, but will not be back in time for this one.

It's a clash between a side that feels as though it should be at the other end of the table against one that will want to continue to prove it belongs at the right end, and that should make for a fascinating affair in SE7.

Kick-off is at 7:45pm.
