Charlton Athletic could have a busy week or so left in the January transfer window as Lee Bowyer looks to prime his squad for an assault on promotion.

Jayden Stockley incoming

Charlton are set to secure a big arrival in terms of their attacking options with Jayden Stockley reportedly set to join the club on loan.

According to Bristol Live, the Addicks have beaten off the likes of Bristol Rovers and Sunderland to secure the Preston North End forward on a temporary stint for the rest of the season.

With Ronnie Schwartz joining this month as well, Lee Bowyer has done nicely in terms of adding attacking threat.

Alfie Doughty exit set to be confirmed

Alfie Doughty's exit to Stoke City will be confirmed in the near future.

The Addicks' winger is heading to the Bet365 Stadium and will now not return on loan to The Valley, as had previously been suggested, with his injury recovery taking longer than expected.

Michael O'Neill has recently confirmed talks have been ongoing between the two clubs and it shouldn't be long before the ink is dry on this one.

Bowyer plays down Ofoborh talk

Manager Lee Bowyer has admitted he likes Nnamdi Ofoborh but does not think the Addicks are going to get him.

The AFC Bournemouth youngster is out of contract in the summer and is attracting plenty of interest, with Charlton boss Bowyer suggesting his side will likely lose out to someone else in the hunt.

He said, via the South London Press:

“I like the player but it’s not going to be realistic bringing him here.

“There are a lot more attractive offers for him at a higher level and even some abroad as well.”
