Charlton Athletic transfer round-up: Alfie Doughty latest as Stoke, Celtic and Rangers circle, Bowyer on further incomings

Charlton Athletic played out an entertaining 4-4 draw yesterday evening against Rochdale with recent arrival Ronnie Schwartz getting his first goal for the club.
Certainly, Lee Bowyer will be hoping that there is more to come in the January window but what’s the latest with the Addicks’ transfer plans both incoming and outgoing?
We take a look in our latest round-up….
Alfie Doughty latest
Speaking after the game yesterday evening, Lee Bowyer revealed that there was little in the way of an update over Alfie Doughty.
The left-sided flyer is expected to move to Stoke City, as per Football Insider, in the current transfer window, subsequently beating the likes of Celtic and Rangers to his signature.
Bowyer confirmed the player still needs to make his mind up.
Bowyer reveals nothing imminent
Again, after the game, Bowyer revealed that nothing was imminent in terms of new arrivals.
The Addicks have signed Schwartz and Liam Millar this month so far and the Charlton boss revealed he would like to add further if he can.
He said it was currently difficult to do so, though, and it remains to be seen if they shift some players on in order to help with the wage cap.
Defender arrival unlikely
Jason Pearce got a harsh red card last night and will now be suspended.
The Addicks have had it tough in terms of putting together a consistent defence this season and Lee Bowyer once again said he’ll have to juggle things after the game.
However, as he has done already this season, he stopped short at saying a new defender would come in with him, in recent weeks, saying he’s ready to rely on those that are already at the club.
