Charlton are set to re-enter talks with Lee Bowyer over a potential new contract at the Valley according to the Evening Standard.

The Addicks boss has been hugely impressive in charge of Charlton this season, and many supporters will be keen to have his future resolved as soon as possible.

Bowyer is in the final month of his contract, and certainly won't be short of potential suitors after such a successful season with the Addicks.

He took Charlton back into the Championship, after a dramatic Play-Off Final win over Sunderland at Wembley.

Patrick Bauer netted an injury-time winner, to spark jubilant scenes amongst the Charlton supporters as they returned to the second tier of English football.

The report claims that Charlton were close to reaching an agreement with Bowyer if they had remained in League One, although that has since changed after they won promotion to the Championship.

Bowyer has already voiced his intentions to remain at The Valley, and Charlton will be hoping they can reach an agreement with their former player in the near future.

If they can complete negotiations swiftly, then it will give Bowyer the time to make new signings as he prepares for life in the Championship next season.

The Verdict:

They'll be hoping to have this sorted at the earliest of opportunities.

Bowyer couldn't have done much more with Charlton this season, and he is a manager with a bright future ahead of him.

Charlton need to have his future resolved, otherwise other clubs will surely be interested in appointing him in the near future.
