According to London News Online, Charlton Athletic are set to complete the signing of Wigan Athletic defender Nathan Byrne.
Nathan Byrne plays as a right back or a right wing back but he can also operate as a winger.
The 24-year-old has played 14 games in the Championship for the Latics so far this season.
Despite his relatively young age, the former Tottenham Hotspur trainee has plenty of experience of senior football in the EFL.
He had loan spells with Brentford, Bournemouth, Crawley and Swindon before joining the latter on a permanent deal in 2013.
After making 99 appearances for the Robins, Byrne moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He spent a year at Molineux before signing a three year deal with Wigan this summer.
However, he is set to leave the Latics already with Charlton set to complete a deal later today.
Byrne is set to become Charlton’s third January signing, after the arrivals of Jake Forster-Caskey and Lewis Page.
