Charlton Athletic take on Northampton Town this week in Sky Bet League One as they look to get back to winning ways at The Valley.

Away form has been that bit better and they could have beaten Oxford United at the weekend but for a late penalty failing to be converted by striker Ronnie Schwartz.

The play-offs remain their aim ahead of the Cobblers clash, though, and whilst we wait to see what happens tomorrow we're taking a look at some of the key headlines around the club right now...

Ryan Inniss latest

Ryan Inniss is working his way back to fitness.

He's been in training and Lee Bowyer has revealed the plan for him in the coming weeks, saying that he'll play an under 23 game this week.

He'll then work up fitness and match sharpness before returning to the Charlton team, though Bowyer has admitted he will not be rushing the defender after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Akin Famewo update

Akin Famewo is another defender that has spent a lot of time out with injury this season but he has returned to the side in recent matches.

Indeed, the plan is to obviously keep him fit and in the side but he might need his minutes managing as he contiues to get back up to speed.

Bowyer revealed a hamstring complaint for the defender but suggested it could be just from the travelling the club has done of late:

“He said after the game that his hamstring was a little bit tight,” said Bowyer. “But if you’ve got something wrong with the hamstring then you don’t get through a game – you’re done.

“I’m hoping it is just neural from his back with the amount of travelling we have done, that has been crazy of late. I’ll find out more today.”

Marcus Maddison caught napping

Marcus Maddison is out on loan at Bolton Wanderers at the moment but missed their game with Barrow earlier on this year due to oversleeping, as per the Daily Mail.

Maddison's contract at Charlton runs out at the end of the season and it remains to be seen if he is going to sign a new deal with the club - it might be expected that he does not.
