The 24-year-old signed for Charlton on loan for the season, and started his career at French giant's Monaco, before joining Liege in 2012 from from Caen and only has one year left on his contract.

He made 28 appearances during his time at the Valley, and scored five times, leading the Addicks to become interested in his signature on a permanent deal from the Belgian side.

A deal had been all set up, before Charlton owner Roland Duchatelet announced in a press conference that he'd sold Standard Liege to Vice President of the club Bruno Vernanzi.

Charlton are hoping to make additions to boost their squad this summer so that they can stave off relegation, as they're one of the bookies favourites for a drop down to League One.
