Sky Bet League One side Charlton Athletic have turned down a newly-prepared bid from an unnamed club for star man Ricky Holmes, according to London News Online.
The 30-year-old was one of the more influential players at The Valley last year following his arrival from Northampton Town twelve months ago, and, as a result, has been the subject of interest this summer transfer window.
Holmes has become a keen target for Championship new boys Sheffield United but it is unclear whether this most recent approach for the winger is from the Blades, nor do we know how much the figure is.
Formerly of Portsmouth, the attack-minded player bagged seven goals for the Addicks as well as six assists in what was a fairly dismal campaign for the south London outfit.
Ricky Holmes penned a two-year deal upon joining Charlton last July, meaning he has one more season on his current contract in the capital, although if interest continues to grow it is unlikely he’ll remain at the club beyond this summer.
