Charlton Athletic are in talks with Nantes winger Vincent Bessat about a potential move to The Valley, reports getfootballnewsfrance.com.
According to L’Equipe, the Addicks are in advanced talks with the 29-year-old who is out-of-contract at the end of next month with the French club.
Nantes have offered a new contract to the winger but Charlton are in pole position to sign the Frenchman, who was also a target for Caen.
Bessat, who predominately plays on the left, began his career at FC Toulouse but never played for the first-team and instead played 32 times for the club’s B side.
He later had spells at CS Louhans-Cuiseaux, FC Metz, US Boulogne before joining Nantes in 2011.
The winger has scored seven goals in 127 appearances for La Canaris.
Charlton were linked with a move for Genk striker Ilombe Mboyo earlier this month but publicly denied they were interested in the player who had spent time in prison for rape.
