Charlton Athletic midfielder Jonny Williams has taken to Instagram to share an update from the club’s training ground as he continues his injury recovery alongside striker Lyle Taylor.
The Addicks duo are both currently sidelined with significant injuries with Taylor having been out of action since late August, while Williams is still in the early stage of his recovery after being ruled out for two months back in late October.
The Wales international was an important figure for Lee Bowyer’s side before suffering his injury problem against Derby, with the midfielder having started nine of Charlton’s league matches this season, while Taylor netted five goals in his first six games before he was ruled out of action.
Williams has now taken to Instagram to share a message regarding his rehabilitation, with the 26-year-old re-posting Taylor’s video with the caption “another day closer” in reference to his recovery process.
Have Charlton been seriously missing Jonny Williams in recent weeks?
Charlton are currently sitting 11th in the Championship table after making a solid start to the season following their promotion last term, but they enter the international break on the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Millwall last Saturday.
Charlton can feel relatively content with the start they have made this season, but the Addicks will be desperate to get a number of their key players back to full fitness following three defeats in their last four games.
There will be some concern regarding Charlton’s recent decline in form, but there will also be a general acceptance that results should improve when players such as Taylor and Williams have recovered from their injuries.
Therefore, Williams’ upbeat message will provide optimism for Charlton fans as it shows the duo are working hard to regain their fitness, with both players now firmly on the road to recovery.
