Charlton defender Lewis Page has shared an update regarding his injury recovery following his latest setback during an Under 23s match back in January.
Page had been closing in on his long-awaited return when he was named in the Under 23’s starting line-up against Crystal Palace last month, but the 23-year-old lasted just 12 minutes before he was forced off with another injury setback.
The left-back has now not managed to make a competitive appearance for the Addicks since October 2018, while injuries have meant Page has only made 27 outings for the South Londoners since his switch from West Ham in January 2017.
Page shared a message on Instagram following last month’s injury where admitted the pain of suffering another problem, but he emphasised that he will keep working hard to get back to full fitness.
He has now again taken to Instagram as he continues with his latest wave of recovery, and the defender appears he remains determined to overcome this latest complication.

There will be some serious concerns over Page’s playing future given the extent of his injury problems in recent years, but this latest update suggests the defender remains committed to getting back on the pitch as soon as possible.
Charlton would have been hoping that Page could work towards a first-team return before the end of the season if his Under 23s appearance went well, but the fact he lasted just 12 minutes suggests he is still some way from a full recovery.
It will be interesting to see whether Charlton decide to keep hold of Page beyond the summer if he has not made his first-team comeback before then, particularly seeing as the 23-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the term.
