It's been a rather hectic week at Sheffield Wednesday with the news coming out yesterday that their 12-point deduction had been halved to six, boosting them points-wise considerably.

A bit of a rot had set in in recent matches and concerns were growing but this news, combined with their win over Bournemouth, has got them right in touch with those sides above them now.

Good news, then, and Dejphon Chansiri has been holding a press conference this morning to reflect on the development, as well as discussing other matters concerning the Owls.

Indeed, one question he fielded concerned the lack of a CEO or sporting director at the club and he revealed it's because he wants Garry Monk to have the final say on signing players.

Quoted by Yorkshire Live, he said

"I already answer this question on why I don’t have a CEO.

"What is the perception of a sporting director or control of the players?

"The way we operate is that the manager has the final say on what he wants.

"This depends on policy. My policy is that I do not believe in a director of football. I have explained how the recruitment works."

The Verdict

The Owls will be very happy with how things have gone this week and now they'll be looking to get themselves out of the bottom three.

They've snapped their losing streak and this points news will surely boost morale, so it's all about building momentum once again.

They actually started the season well before tailing off so we know there is quality there, it's just all about them applying themselves.
