A number of West Brom supporters have suggested that Jordan Hugill made a positive difference for the Baggies after coming from the bench in their goalless draw against Derby County.
Valerien Ismael’s side went into the game hoping to get back to winning ways after they were held to a draw by Millwall on Saturday.
However, the Baggies were unable to find a breakthrough thanks to a combination of excellent defending by the Rams and goalkeeping by Kelle Roos.
It had been a real struggle for West Brom in the opening 45 minutes. The Baggies lacked enough of a physical presence upfront to hold the ball up and link the play with other players in the final third.
As a result, Ismael decided to bring Hugill off the bench for the second half. The arrival of the 29-year-old onto the pitch did play a part in helping West Brom look much more of a sustained threat to Derby’s goal.
Hugill was able to better occupy Derby’s three-man defence and he managed to hold the ball up well at times and provide a focal point for those around him.
That saw West Brom able to create numerous chances in the second period that they were unable to take and had to settle for a draw.
Quiz: Have West Brom won or lost more against each of these 25 English teams?
Many West Brom fans were insistent that Hugill now needs to be handed a start for the Baggies after showing that he can make a difference for them upfront from the bench.
Here, we take a look at some of the best reactions on social media…
Impressed by Hugill tonight though. Good first touch and has the ability to bring others into the game. Could be a big player for us going forward #wba

SJ won’t get an easier game all season.
11 players on the pitch, and the person with the most enthusiasm to get the ball back into play, was Val.
Grady looked the best he’s been this season and more like himself which is good to see.
Hugill made a difference. #WBA

Bit of common sense needed by some of the Albion fans, second half completely different, unlucky not to get one in total dominance. Hugill has to start at preston! #WBA

Hugill has to be starting games. He may not be the best centre forward in the world, but at least he gives us some presence up top. The lack of a goal scorer is definitely starting to show 😓 #WBA

Much better 2nd half. A bit of passing. attacking football. Unlucky Roos had a blinder. Hugill and Reach v.good & encouraging performance from Grady, especially when shifted to the left. Disappointed we didn't win but so much better than Millwall game. We go again. #WBA

Don't get the reaction tonight.. Yea the first half was poor but we did enough in the second half to win that. Just unlucky with our chances.
Get Hugill in the starting lineup and hope he scores some goals because he was brilliant when he came on.
Still unbeaten #wba

Awful First Half. Second half much much better. Diangana looks a lot better and HAS to play from the left side now. Hugill changed the Dyanamic of the forward line and deserves a start. #wba
