Despite their brilliant opening 12 matches putting them in a very strong position to win automatic promotion, there is a sense that Leeds United will need to strengthen in January to maintain that form.

It is possible that that high-intensity Marcelo Bielsa is famed for and has worked so well for the club could come back to bite them, especially with the busy winter period approaching fast.

But their prayers could well be answered in January, with AS Argentina reporting that the club could look to bring in Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth in the summer to add some much-needed depth.

Already this season, Bielsa has been forced to play many players out of position, with the defence the main area that has needed cover.

Stuart Dallas covered the injured Barry Douglas at left-back against Brentford with Jamie Shackleton and Ezgjan Alioski also being asked to cover defensive roles through the season as well.

It would obviously be a big boost if Foyth were to arrive at Elland Road and here is how their defence could line up if he did...

Bielsa has not been averse to playing three at the back in the past and it could present him with the perfect chance to do so.

As the most mobile of the club's centre-backs, Foyth would most likely operate on the right-hand side of the three.

The rock in the middle would undoubtedly be Jansson.

He leads by example and would fit perfectly in the middle of the back-three.

Finally, over on the left would be Liam Cooper.

The Whites' captain has played as a left-back before in his career so playing on the left of a three should be relatively easy for him to adapt to.
