Sky Bet Championship outfit Nottingham Forest are said to favour the appointment of either Nigel Pearson or Nigel Clough, following the sacking of Dougie Freedman yesterday.
According to the Daily Star, the ex-Leicester City boss is the firm favourite to take on the vacancy, whilst former Forest striker Clough has a clause in his contract at Burton Albion, which would allow him to discuss terms with the Reds.
Pearson has been out of work since departing Leicester City in the summer after guiding them to Premier League survival, he has been touted for several positions since leaving the King Power Stadium but remains unattached.
Freedman was sacked in the aftermath of a 3-0 home reverse to Sheffield Wednesday which was the club’s fifth defeat in six games, with the ex-Bolton boss leaving his role after 14 months in charge.
Pearson would be a popular choice among Forest fans, given his promotion credential, but working for trigger-happy chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi may not be at the very top of his agenda.
Forest fans, who do you want as the club’s new boss? Would you like the club to appoint someone who knows the Championship? Or maybe someone from abroad? Let us know below!
