Frank Lampard is gearing up for his first season as a manager at Derby County and will be assessing the group he has with pre-season underway.

Then, the Chelsea legend is sure to dip into the transfer market after a relatively quiet start on that front so far.

However, with Matej Vydra's future seemingly away from Pride Park, that should provide Lampard with some reasonable funds to improve the squad.

There are a few clear weak areas in the group and with Derby no doubt targeting another top six finish, there will need to be several additions in the coming weeks.

Here we look at two potential arrivals that we can see happening at Pride Park...

The Rams have made a late bid for the West Ham defender and it's a deal that makes a lot of sense.

He is a young, promising defender and showed on loan at Bolton last season that he is a very capable player at this level, whilst as a left-footer he would bring balance to the defence.

The Rams need younger options in that position and will hope to finalise this deal as soon as possible.

Another player who is on their radar is Brentford's Jozefzoon, with the Rams having a £1.5m bid rejected last week.

Derby lost Johnny Russell in January and didn't really replace him but the Dutch winger would ensure they do that. He has great pace, skill and looks to beat players.

That's exactly what they need and with the 27-year old having just 12 months on his contract a deal should be agreed.
